Drums are traditionally set to channel 10. Let's say that on your second keyboard you really want to use the drum kit sounds. Keep in mind that it is playing both MIDI instruments at the same time, therefore, you have to disable any channels on the first MIDI instrument so you only hear the second MIDI instruments sound.įor example, most MIDI keyboards can play up to 16 channels at one time. NOTE!! When doing this, there is one thing you will need to watch out for. You can use the thru port to control the second MIDI instrument to play that particular sound. You can open Garage Band and add a new MIDI instrument track and proceed with mapping of sounds.Let's say there is a specific instrument sound on your second MIDI instrument that you really want to use. On my screenshot above it's hidden in dropdown menu that open when you click on '>' icon. Go to MIDI Studio on your Macbook (that is a built-in utility - you can find it using Spotlight), then click 'Configure Bluetooth' option. Now you will need to get them paired as MIDI devices (which turned out to be a different thing in this context!). Enable Bluetooth on both of your devices and pair the devices as audio devices.Ģ.
